Love, Honor, Cherish

"What greater thing is there for two human souls that to feel that they are joined... to strengthen each other... to be at one with each other in silent unspeakable memories."
                                                           ~ George Eliot

I had the extreme pleasure of photographing this beautiful young couple in Hudson WI this past week.  We found endless locations for picture perfect shots walking around the old city streets and the St. Croix River.  Lots of laughter and hysterical moments made this shoot a summer highlight.

Congratulations to Bryan and Sarah!

With this ring I thee wed....
Some history on the engagement ring.
The the engagement ring symbolizes the promise of a future together. The diamond ring has been around since 1477, but other rings have been used throughout the centuries to mark engagements.

Rings featuring gem stones were popular in the 18th and 19th centuries. Often, the first letter of the stones within the setting spelled out the name of the giver or a word, such as “dearest” (diamond, emerald, amethyst, ruby, epidote, sapphire, turquoise).
